Pangong Lake, situated at an altitude of 4,225 meters, is one of the most scenic and breathtaking places in Ladakh. The lake stretches over 134 km, with two-thirds of it lying in Tibet. During winter, the lake freezes completely, creating a surreal landscape. The area around Pangong offers limited accommodation, mainly in eco-friendly camps and small guesthouses. Visitors can enjoy stunning sunrise and sunset views, go for a peaceful lakeside walk, and indulge in astrophotography under the clear night sky. The journey to Pangong via Chang La Pass is an adventure in itself, offering panoramic views of rugged terrain and snow-clad peaks.
